123 HP Officejet Pro 8740 Setup

  1.  Open the flaps on the 123.hp.com/ojpro8740 package.
  2. Remove the HP power cable, phone jack cable, and ink cartridges from the box.
  3. Take the HP Officejet Pro 8740 driver CD and the Readiris Pro CD out of the box.
  4. Set the instruction manuals aside and remove the HP device from the package.
  5. Place the base of the HP printer on a stable surface and then carefully place the 123.hp.com/setup 8740 on top of it.
  6. Discard the blue tapes and protective film which cover the HP 8740 device.
  7. Attach the power cable provided in the box to the printer and the power outlet.
  8. Pull the paper tray out, open the scanner lid, and remove the protective packaging.
  9. Close the HP scanner lid, place a stack of paper on the paper tray, and adjust the paper guides to hold the paper in place.
  10. Power on the HP 8740 by pressing the Power button.
  11. Open the HP device’s cartridge access door.
  12. Install the HP ink cartridges after removing the protective covers from the cartridge door and the cartridge carriage area.
  13. Follow the on-screen guidelines to set preferences and print the alignment page of HP Officejet Pro 8740 Setup printer.
  14. This completes the unboxing and initial setup of the 123.hp.com/ojpro8740 printer.
